Default Wasp stings really hurt

Been cycling a bit trying to build it up .. did 51 miles today and it wasn't too bad apart from a wasp flying into my helmet (shut up) and stinging my poor head ..

Wow, how painful are wasp stings .. 5 hours later and it's still throbbing like a ******* ..

Or that of a hornet: my wife got three around her right eye, she looked like Quasimodo and couldn't see out of it for over a week.

Do similar length rides on my bike. A couple of times bees have landed on the gaps on my helmet, buzzed about for a few mins then buggered off! You maybe don't have enough hair to protect your noggin Pimmo?

Been stung on my chest and belly though at different times - occupational hazard for a cyclist!

I was on the verge of being admitted to hospital when I was last stung by one of those bast&rds. My instep became convex and severely swollen. I was unable to walk due to the extent of the swelling making one leg substantially longer than the other. Managed to convince the quack I'd do as I was told, took the drip home and laid up for 2 days until I could step on it again. Horrible, horrible things

I hit it at 27mph, so with it combined speed it must have been 6-7 hundred at least it got stuck on my head, my mate had to pull the stinger out .. Note to self, scrap stingers out, pulling them squeezes them releasing more pain ..

I think it depends if your allergic or not and to what degree, i remember being stung when i was about six and it hurt like hell but iv'e been stung quite a few times since and it hardly hurts at all and doesn't even swell up, think mordern wasps are pussies much like the op

My mum was stung by a bee once and her leg swelled up double the size

In croatia they have hornets that get up to about 5cm by almost 2cm and when one of those stings you your in trouble, 4 stings have been known to kill, and thats people without an allergy local priest got stung 16 times whilst picking grapes and was in a bad way for a couple of weeks, everyone thought he was going to see his boss.

Sounds like your mate emptied the sting sack, lol.

Many moons ago i was a roofer in germany and we used to catch hornets and wasps in our hands with gloves on then throw them at the roof to stun them, squash the head and chase each other with them 3 floors up trying to sting each other, which was extreemly dangerous but loads of fun especialy when you got someone unawares on the back, so funny watching someone jump hop and run up and down screaming shouting and swearing, ahh the good old days

Friend of mine is a gardener and was cutting a hedge with an electric trimmer recently and didn't realise he had chopped through a wasps nest.
It dropped to the floor and the facked off wasps flew out and straight up his shorts !!

3 stings on his meat and two veg.

Was watching a couple of Hornets here last week and they are huge in comparison to wasps. Like parking a 747 next to a Cessna.

Weever fish, now they are buggers! Stood on one once when I were a young 'un, after the pain my whole leg went numb. Parents took me to the local hospital and whilst sat quietly waiting to see a quack a "hardened" fisherman came in with the same thing bawling like a two year old! Oh, how I laughed......
