heh
worse bit is i only stuck my foot down for a few seconds after being held up by some idiot going really slow, then slowing to a near enuff stop to turn off the road
a few seconds in the scoob is more then enough to get yer past 30 easily it seems :P
i pulled off into a garden centre, but i could see his car moving, he appeared along side me in the car park heh
i wasnt trying to avoid him totally, although i hoped a little heh, but id rather he pulled along side me in a car park, then flashing teh blues at me on a public road

thankfully a mini driver warned me of an impending speed trap up ahead earlier or I would have had 3 points . the road they were on has only recently been reduced from 50 down to 40 but obviously it was not a money making exercise to catch people unaware of the recent change. and everything to do with road safety.

35 indicated on your speedo? you might get away with that tbh
i kinda feel like karma had a play,as ive had a moment a few years ago where a plod was aimming a camera at me
i thought he had me, so didnt even bother to hide the fact ( i was doing around 35 )
and he slapped the side of my car shouting somebout about ffin slow down :s
i stopped around 100m up the road,he started walking towards me, and then stopped and turned around
so i drove off, half expecting him to appear with the lights on, but nout :s

I'd followed a queue of about 6 cars all behind a caravan for MILES at 35-40mph approaching Millau. No one even TRIED to pass it, and I couldn't do the 7 cars and caravan in one.
I saw a bit of dual, dropped it a gear and went for it, (Vauxhall Astra GTE 16V, 150bhp), I then got a pull half a mile down the road.
What I HADN'T realised is that the dual went from 90kph to 70kph at it's very end. The flics had a speed device set up there and got me at 142kph.
Got fined 900 Francs, which was around £90 in those days, they took us to a cashpoint to get it out, then insisted we went to the poilce station with them where he laboriously typed everything out on an old typewriter.
Got a BIT of my own back: quietly told my 7 year old to "act up".
By the time we left his office, it looked like a bomb had hit it, posters ripped, or completely off the wall, desk drawers emptied, stuff on the floor, every cupboard opened and stuff spilled out etc etc. We kept "telling him to stop" but for some reason he took no notice. When the French flic shouted at him, he just blew a raspberry, the guy got up and tried to catch him, he ran him ragged, made him look the tw@ he was.
The guy then remonstrated with me, so I launched into a long, boring explanation IN ENGLISH and spoke not ONE word of French.
Great fun, but the £90 fine wasn't.
