Basking sharks on the bbc
How luvey dovey weve become ,tagging them for their future conservancy
My grandpa was called upon by Gavin Maxwell to help him set up his basking shark fishery off the west coast scotland , another money making endeavour - which thankfully also went wrong

Used to see them regularly when I went bass fishing offshore.
You used to see the typical shark's fin poking out of the water as they approached. I once had one bump the underneath of my boat, which was a bit of a worry since my boat was an 18 footer and the shark was approaching 30 feet long.
Other than that they were harmless, only eating plankton.
