Default NSR is dead

Since 8:30 there have only been 4 threads responded to in here..... that's in 2.5 hours.

I remember the days when your thread was gone off the page in 15 minutes if no one replied to it.

Sad to see it like this!

It's less lively, yes, but maybe every topic has been done to death?

Go and reply to my "Used item" thread if you are bored

TdW was posting last night. I'd just joined a thread that was having a reasonable conversation about some elements of Islam, and it was deleted for no apparent reason. It doesn't exactly encourage discussion, does it?

Some subjects are just more acceptable to talk about than others, it seems. Islam being one where there isn't much room for debate unless you share the 'correct' view, i.e. general acceptance.

I blame the mods and admin for vaping/locking threads all the time. No such thinv as freedom of speech on SN anymore.

You bunch of spunk bags

I can't even say that a certain fruit is great for fear of being infracted... again. No doubt this post will get deleted.

We need a new brand of performance petrol on the market. That will ensure about 20 new threads a day for about 3 months

I think Kieran's going to resurrect that thread later, to be fair. I thought your post would have been good to explore and Shaid's post would have made for a great exchange. Somebody decided to end that.

TdW's second ban that I tried to contest in Policy set a precedent that doesn't bode well. Still, I'm sure those who tried every measure under the Sun to silence him will be pleased that admin. finally capitulated.

On the subject of NSR being dead, maybe we should have a list, nay two lists.

One list being stuff that we are not allowed to discuss without it being vaped, edited, locked etc. That list I am sure is endless but no doubt will have things like, Muslim, Apple, Golliwogs, cocklink, asian/variations, welsh people

Other list could be stuff that might start a lively conversation and provoke some discussion but does not come under the banner of 'which ****ing washing machine/fridge/watch/pan etc should I buy !! '

I can't even pull F1 Fan up on his usual dribble about Lewis Hamilton being God. And I think he has 'blocked me'! Where's the fun in that?
Then again, he did go squealing like a little piggy to the mods, so may be he needs to start looking in the mirror for reasons why this forum is dying. Full of people that give ****e but are unable to take it.

Someone tell him what I said.

Two things: first, you called for stricter moderation; second, you called for a ban on the discussion of religion. The net result has been a raft of tepid, mediocre threads that avoid points of contention (except that topic which has become the crucible of deep principle - Apple products). You led the charge, f1.

I now feel victimised and I am now faced with no other choice than to RTM the quoted post above, or I could take it with good humour and just carry on with my life.

Well firstly I am chuffed you feel I have such influence over the mods as well as other users. You must really think I am some kind of leader of men or something..... more fool you!

Secondly the period I am referring to was way before your interest in Islamism and all the associated threads you and others have enjoyed creating about it. There was a lot more to NSR in those days than now and if you really think the NSR we have today is just as a result of my leading any charge against religious threads you are deluded.

However I think we both know that is not the case and what this post is about don't we? The things is I have hardly been here recently and certainly not for your friend's ban. It had zip to do with me (for once ) so maybe you need to have a look elsewhere for the reasons.

Put it this way I am not blaming you for the demise of NSR.... you may have played a small part who, knows, but I am talking about the bigger picture.
