Just send it to hatton garden metals, you can pay me 1% commission for all the extra money you are going to get over any other company.

the best thing to do is go to some of your local **** shops to see who gives you the best price as for the ring they dont normally value them as much for some reason.

You lot crack me up

The thing is im selling this for my kids as mum has said with themoney she wants to buy them some sovereign as investment, i have explained golds high now is not the time to buy but it is a good time to sell,so the money will sit untill prices drop, bare in mind one bangle alone is 22ct 45g that alone is a nice sum at 30 a gram.

No one will give a good price in eBay.

Your best bet, is your local reputable Jeweller. My wife got a good/fair price in a local shopping centre for some old stuff.

Take it to a jeweller - they'll give you scrap value AT LEAST, especially if you know what they are worth as scrap anyway. Some nice jewellery items will attract a premium. The missus took an unremarkable 9ct red gold necklace into a local small jewellers the other week and got feckin £350 for it! Couldn't believe it.

No, you have to pay ABOVE what we get locally because 1: It's local and 2: why should we trust you?

And we got much more than the scrap value. Much more.

Forget the local rag ads or high street jewellers as they will rip you off. You need to find a proper trader. Often a scruffy sole trader who lives in a tatty flat and has been in the trade all his life like his dad before him. Your dentist could be a good starting point for information as they will collect all the removed gold fillings and take them to such a person for a cash deal every so often. dl

Paying loadsamoney for a bit of soft metal is a mig's game, as far as I'm concerned. There is NO INTRINSIC VALUE in these items. The same goes for diamonds - bits of carbon, couldn't give a ****. Let other people fret and kill each other over them.

The world is insane.

Well i dont think there is mega money but in scrap 9ct 34g and in 18k 29g, also a old wedding band 22ct 6g lovely colour

In terms of rings two solitaires one on 9ct one 18 id say there about 0.25ct diamonds as they are not as big as my wifes 0.5

A really pretty diamond cluster ring with 8 diamonds around the outise about 2mm in size and the centre diamond 3mm, every women i have shown it to today gained the ooooooooooo thats nice responce lol, think thats in 18ct gold

A oval saphire 5mm in length surounded by small 1mm diamonds again reasonably pretty

A crappier solitare diamond thatz smaller and set in gold to make it look bigger on a 9ct ring

She is investing the money in sovereign's for them when gold prices drop, buy all accounts should be 2.5k, not too bad for old tat that she has not seen in 10 years

Personaly id like to spend it on a load of scrap silverand leave it for couple years

I have been looking around as had not realised how much gold the Wife has accumulated over the years, very little of it she still actually wears.

I have been hunting around for who is offering the best buy price for Gold. I have about half a kilo of 22ct and within the last few days I have been offered between £22 and £32 per gram.

Even found a place in Birmingham that would be worth driving up to, as they were offering £2 per gram more than a local place to me.

Sheldon Jewellery centre in Brum and Hatton Garden Metals are the best I have found so far, but I am going to carry on looking. No rush.

I was waiting for the wife to come out from her hairdressers appointment last weekend (Welwyn Garden City) and some old dear shuffled up to a booth nearby to sell some jewelery.

I watched as she unloaded chain after chain, ring after ring - I saunted past and took a glance - It looked like quality gear to me (No expert tbh)

The bloke offered £650

I butted in at that point and said "I think you can get a better price, please try somewhere else" and the bloke did his nut!!!

I said that I would offer her at least 50% more for her stuff immediately and if he (the shark) wouldn't match it he was ripping her off. I said she should get a proper valuation before letting go.

To my immense sadness - she declined my offer and sold to the trader.

I saw her about an hour later in Waitrose buying food

Looks like ebay for this one
