Default Anyone from Newcastle? Long shot......

Two friends and I are doing the Great North Run on the 18th September for the British Heart Foundation.

We have left it a bit late to book the accommodation and it seems all the hotels are booked up or charging £200 for a room (for the 17th Sep, night before race).

Are there any Geordies on here that know of any cheap accommodation (willing to pay £100 for the 3 of us)? or even anyone who wants to rent out a spare room?

Even up to 30-45 minutes outside Newcastle would be fine

Any help would be much appreciated as we would rather top our donations up than spend £200 on a hotel room.

What language do you speak? If it's welsh, you can go to ****!

Might be able to assist.

Not if you're a murderer though.

Excellent! Just found one and booked it in Morpeth for £95. It was the only one with availability that wasn't extortionate.

Thanks a lot

You must be a google master because I couldn't find any with availability for under £200. Hence asking on here for local advise

No bother, could have saved you a hundred quid, too late now.

Sort of "word of warning".

You'll have to get, probably by foot, from point B to A to get near the start line for the GNR.

That's by car, on foot it's WAY longer.

Morpeth is miles away, on a plus side its in a rural area and will have a few bars for a good night out

roads round there will be closed so you can walk straight across leases park to the start finish, 20 min walk at most. Did the walk 3 years ago.

Indeed Les, and thats just your standard hotels inflating prices because of the event, not even 5 star!

Won't need any nightlife the night before the race and were staying in Newcastle centre on the night after the race at the Jurys Inn as the prices are back to normal
