Default Happy ramadan!

Enjoy not eating during the daylight.

Statistically August is darker than July......so pig (not the best term I guess) out at 9pm!

According to an office memo last week, I will have to "show special consideration and patience" with certain colleagues over the next month, because some of them may be incapable of doing their jobs properly as a result of deliberately self-inflicted low blood sugar levels.

As a Druid of very long-standing, I shall of course expect the same consideration to be given me in turn, when I come into work tripping off my nuts on magic mushrooms and LSD on the occasion of the Winter solstice in December

LOL. I've worked loads in the Middle East and it's pretty funny the way it's used as an excuse why people can't do anything basically work-wise.

The company I worked for used to employ local Drivers to ferry personnel about. There are special rules for Muslims if they travel and they are allowed to eat. It goes back to the days when journeying on foot and/or camels was arduous. These Drivers were in every gas station scoffing their faces.

I couldn't think of anything worse than purposefully starving myself all day.... Can you drink water during this time? Surely it's dangerous to let yourself get into this state. I would be a nightmare if I couldn't eat or drink, I'd faint every day I reckon....

Happy Ramadhan all.

I've consulted some body builder types who recommend plenty of protien. So last year every morning I had Koranic fishfigers coupled with scrambled egg. I could go the whole day without feeling hungry or lethargic. Hope it's the same this year.

i imagine for muslim diabetics who want to practice their faith it must be frustrating. there is a provision made for sick people though.

My understanding is that children, the elderly and sick are allowed to eat and drink as are those in some occupations, doctors, pilots, etc. Otherwise food and drink can be consumed after dark and before sunrise.

When i lived in Dubai we where warned to keep journeys to a minimum during religious events such as Eid's and Ramadan - in the afternoons/evenings and keep off of the roads (whenever possible) around the time of the evening call to prayers as there where a lot of Muslims on the roads with low blood sugar, dehydrated and the associated problems that come with this.

The eating and drinking is a small part of fasting. If a basic necessity is made unlawful then things like backbiting, cheating, the smaller things are turned uP a notch. It's a month to sort yourself out.

So basically you can do things your religion don't allow during the year, and you think by doing this you'll still not burn in hell.

Yet the rest of us law abiding citizens are going to burn in hell regardless.

As I said it's a month to sort yourself out. Think of it like a service.

As for your poor attempt at trolling I shall let it go. After all tis season of goodwill and charity

You only need to travel 15 miles or so to be exempt don't you? Just drive round the block a few times

I just came back from Abu Dhabi last week after doing a 6 week trip there. Home just in time to miss Ramadan. Oh and I got suitably drunk and interferred with Chinese hookers before I left

I watched one of these Cop shows on ITV the other day and a Muslim Copper was chasing a car thief on foot.... he couldn't catch the guy and collapsed and vomited all over the place because he was "fasting". It was all caught on his "shoulder cam"

Very funny to watch but surely if you are doing a public service role like this then you shouldn't be working. I wouldn't like to be treated by a doctor who was fasting especially.

Are you sure about it...are you honestly?

Do you honestly believe that all non muslim people will burn in hell? And not just burn once......but for a long time.

I'm not preaching, just don't want to see you waste your time and going hungry.

Thank you for your concern, it really is good to see that you are genuinly concerned for my wellbeing not to mention how precious you consider my time. Thank you

My beliefs are MY beliefs if you want to learn more there is plenty of information on the net (some right, some wrong, etc) What i do and do not believe plays no relevance and has absolutely nothing to do with anyone but me so therefore whilst i genuinly appreciate your concern i'd prefer you not to preach whatever it is you believe in today, yesterday and tommorrow.

However you are more than welcome to come round my house and break fast with me. Some nice food on the go come dusk
