In a bit of a state :(
It's my dads birthday today but just heard from my sister, and she is taking my mum to hospital because she can't breath. I feel sick.
I can't do anything

She's getting the best possible advice and treatment and she's with your sister. I know how you feel - living away from family when they fall ill is debilitating in the sense that you feel useless. Keep in touch with what's going on - that way you can support those with your Mum and she knows you're thinkng about her.

They live in north Wales. I'm in the midlands.
They just got back from three weeks abroad, and as she has COPD, I'm hoping it's just lack of excercise that's left her feeling off.
I hope.

Probably like you say down to the holiday, suspect they will put her on a Nebuliser, Steroids and tell her to take it easy for a few days then get some exercise.
A guy at work is in and out every few weeks with his 4 year old girl with breathing issues, she can be pretty bad but once in hospital they sort her out very quickly

Well... Thankfully it was just an exacerbation. It could have been worse if my sister hadn't insisted on taking her to a&e.
She is back home now.
Thanks to those with the kind words.

Yes, my sister is great at scaring the crap out of me!
Basically she goes to the gym 4-5 times a week to help with her COPD and general fitness.
She arrived back from three wees in lanzarote and started mowing the lawn, washing, cleaning etc. Basically doing too much.
When she doesn't exceicise her COPD gives her some right greif, which resulted in her unable to breath and both my mum and sister getting a bit worried.
Luckily it was all pretty minor and it seems, and it could have been avoided had she been a bit more careful.

Can totally empathise with the relief. I'm having to travel a 500 mile round trip to see my Mum at the moment. My sister is also her main carer. All I can do is get there when I can and help out with costs and phone lots.
Glad to hear all is well.
