It's a patch of scruffy grass barely big enough to sit down on – but that hasn’t stopped one town hall making a great deal of fuss about it.
The verge measures only 3ft by 2ft but has its own ‘Keep Off The Grass’ sign. The warning has appeared as officials plan £70million of cuts.

Resident Tom Beardmore, 29, said he was ‘flabbergasted’ when he saw it in Raynes Park, south-west London.

‘It is a ridiculous waste of money, especially in the context of council cuts and redundancies,’ he said.

Did you know that serial drug use makes you forget to put the occasional word in a sentence?

Good optical illusion, all the "users" look like they're sloping upwards

To me, anyway

Yes they do indeed. However 'users' are on a slippery slope down, as a rule.

Pete it was your beloved Labour that did this, the local council probably has an executive on £200k just to be in charge of signage like this.

I bet they sacked the man who used to monitor the grass and replaced him with the sign

From what i can see there isn't any grass to worry about, just a collection of unsightly weeds

They'll buy a Special Mower, Les ..... one which is very expensive, but cuts around signs!
