Red face The Government says ....

.... we are facing a second recession ....

When they start to warn us you can consider it a copper bottomed guarantee that this Financial Turmoil is far from over.

Batten down the hatches, get the cash from the Bank and deposit under the mattress, get out of shares, buy Gold (but make sure you actually hold it!), sell your BTL Portfolio now for what you can get ..... and move to outer Mongolia for a decade.

You should be ok Pete, the industry you are in is unaffected by the ups and downs of the free market.

FWIW I am keenly watching teh euro situation, it's not even close to being sorted and spells something worse than Leman Bros it if (when it?) goes **** up.

Yes, yes, please, please, please Pete, take your own advice and please move to outer mongolia for ten years. I for one will sponsor you if it simply means that you'll f%$k off.

As ever, the **** starts a thread, stirring the pot with lies. As has been said, no one from the government has said that we are facing another recession, what they said was that depending on how things go in euroland then even tougher times may be ahead.

Didn't use to work for news international did you, cos they never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

On the BBC's Andrew Marr Show, Clegg was asked: "How worried are you that we are on the edge of another really serious world financial crisis?"

He replied: "I'm incredibly worried. I think the gravity of the uncertainty in the United States, which is basically a product of political gridlock, and the growing fiscal crisis, sovereign debt crisis in the eurozone is immensely serious."

Shut up you tool!

You were saying only last week that property is the safest investment and you were looking at investing yourself.

People will need houses to rent when they lose their homes

As for cash under the mattress...... where is it you live again

Times are a changin' quickly ........... at least with property you can touch and feel it - cash in the Bank will have disappeared.

But, I do now feel that property is about to drop like a stone .... the base level will be when the price hits the magic 7% Rental figure.

Was it not the Tories, and subsequently the ConDem government that told us they'd be leading us out of certain financial meltdown and that should Gordon Brown win the election we'd be in for a certain 2nd recession?

Clegg doing another one of his 'U-Turns' ?

In an attempt to keep things serious. Having spoken to a couple of chaps from one of the fund managers, they seemed to think that Italy wasn't quite the basket case that Greece is. Italys saving grace is that at least folk pay tax there and they have systems in place to make the populace pay more. Greece didn't seem to have any of this.

I think the Euro is doomed and these guys felt the same. However, what they envisaged was a strategic retreat back to local currencies rather than implosion.

And in the US, they will push it to the wire for political reasons. Each little tyrant trying to get his greedy little share over the other. They will agree something, it's just how much of a has do they make it in order to keep everyone (them not us) happy.

I see that the Eorozone is this morning declaring a solution to the problems of the Euro - this will be as a red rag to a bull to the financial markets who will show their muscle today and really test the resolve of the EU Greek agreement.

The Euro experiment is finished, we all know it, it is pointless dragging the terminal patient about the clinic for multiple bandages ........ it's when, not if, the whole thing unravels.

More crap from Lewis.

The financial markets are doing nothing of the sort. The pact has been greeted with muted acceptance. All peripherals are trading a lot higher.

Why don't you STOP just making stuff up, just for once???

Even my posts of previous years with just a single smiley hold more worth than the vacuous bull$hit in the majority of yours. I would hate to be as ill-informed as you, Pete, i really would.

He's right though. When the sh*t really hits the fan, what you want to do is withdraw paper from the bank and stuff it right under your mattress. Will provide you with some additional bedding when your old stuff is needing thrown out (due to soiling yourself with fear, naturally). Or you could burn it to keep warm.
