Default Just tried Quorn ..

Meatballs and spaghetti to be precise....

Not bad, but certainly lacking in flavour

Might have it again, but will pep it up with some additional seasoning

lost just over a stone now, ... only another 2 to go

Add some beef stock into the mix. That'll help sort it

assuming you aren't veggy/vegan/whatever

my missus is a veggie, so i'm used to eating quorn. Tasts ok imo, i'd say most people wouldn't notice any difference unless told before hand that it wasnt real meat.

Use a good quality veggie stock. fry off some chopped onion and add the mince and some seasoning before the oinion is completely cooked.

TBH use good quality meat, lean steak mince and there is little in it fat wise

I was suprised the first time I tried it. As long as it's cooked in a sauce you can hardly tell the difference.

My mrs doesnt eat meat so Ive had a fair bit of quorn and for the most part its not that bad at all. For spaghetti bolognese I find it easy to spot the difference especially in texture and prefer to use lean steak mince as mentioned above. For something like lasagne where its in between layers of pasta then its hardly noticeable really.

When I was younger my mum used to do half and half - mince & quorn equivalant purely from a price point of view and first time she did it we never even noticed.

I had Quorn burgers last night. It can be a refreshing change from the real thing sometimes.

+1 the burgers are better than 99% of the meaty burger type stuff in the freezer cabinet

Why does most veggie food have to resemble meat based products.
