Default Hot air balloon trial lesson?

Hi All

It's my old man's 60th shortly and I'm considering getting him a balloon flight to mark the occasion. In fact I know that he'd much prefer to actually take part in flying the balloon, or at least speak in detail with the pilot about how he is flying the balloon, judgements he is making, etc, rather than the usual glass of champers type balloon experiences. He has a fair bit of flying experience - paragliding lately, as well as microlights, light aircraft and gliders some time ago, so I expect he'd pick it up and be able to be involved quicker than most. Anyone done similar or know of a company who would cater to this? He is based in N Wales so somewhere nearby would be easiest but not essential.

Cheers

Thanks Les. What sort of thing did you do? Did you get to have a go and/or speak to the pilot in the manner I described, given your background?

I'd not waste my money. Seems like a lot of hot air to me!

No it was just a short trip and he was a bit busy to be talked to. It was enough to convince me what a good experience it is and I am sure your dad will really enjoy it.
