Iphone and ipod, is the music player the same ?
I'm considering getting an iphone, what i wanted to know is the music player the same in the iphone as in the ipod ?
Will an ipod sound better for playing music than through an iphone with it being a dedicated music player or should their be no difference ?

There should be no difference, as with any MP3 music player there is a trade off on sound quality. Your first steps should be to replace the dire bundled headphones though.
Obviously the iPhone is so much more than an iPod

From personal experience the I phone and I pod have exactly the same quality. I have had both play music through my ALTEC Lansing dock and there is no difference at all.
I assumed the iPhone to be the same as an iPod, minus the phone bit?

Cheers for the feedback.
If they are the same music wise then my thinking is that i may as well buy the iphone rather than an have an ipod and an iphone, seems a bit daft to carry 2 similar sized gadgets around where one can play both music and its a phone as well.

Sadly the iphone as an actual phone is rubbish!

Bought an Iphone 3GS, its mainly for playing poker as the music player will come in handy, didn't need the Iphone 4 as i doubt i would ever use it to its full potential. Just seemed the way to go having a phone and music player in the one gadget rather than having them seperate.

ditto: have an iphone, its great having yr email, camera, music, internet, the millions of apps all bundled into one device. I'm sold.
got the wife a htc smart phone (v cheap on contract as a 2nd phone) its absolute crap compared to the apple product. I cannot see why people don't get apple v other products.
i'm still on a 3GS too: cannot see any great reason to change things

Its funny you should mention HTC, i used to have the HTC Desire, the phone itself was superb and i really liked the sense interface.
The thing thats put me off Android is its a bit risky compared to apple, the apps on Android arn't scrutinised in the same way they are with apple, that could lead to you downloading all sorts of dodgy apps, you could be putting anything on your phone.
I have to admit i used to be anti apple mainy because it seemed like every ****** had an iphone, i just wanted to be different hence the HTC and Android. I'll give apple a whirl and see how it goes for 6 months ish.
