Freighting stuff abroad
Sent packages to Zim all paid for ( serviceair) , supposed to go to Bulawayo via Harare . Well the first available flight didnt leave ( presumabably cos airzim couldnt afford the fuel or else ) and now the scallies want some 250 dollar to release it( duty they say , its clothes ) and then some for 'storage' cos flights to Bulawayo arnt working either apparently lol
I guess its always like this in third world countries ?

servisair are a handling agt, your best approaching one of the freight agents in the future.
if you approached me with a personal effects job to africa, i wouldnt have touched it with a bargepole.
if i did i would have only sent it as far as HRE.
those sorts of destinations attract alot of excesss bagaggage which pays considerably more than your freight rates, so freight simply gets bumped off for things with a higher yield like, HR, HAZ,VAL excess luggage.
i would have had you make out a packing list stating it had a value of £1 or was a charitable donation or something like that.
but like i say if someone rings me with effects i say no.

Yes indeed our mistake was paying an extra 10p / kilo ( 63 kg) or something to get it to Bulawayo , seemed like a bargain
family in harare now collecting from airport there
Jackos mate - she the girlfriend has used various 'agents' mainly fellow countrymen who have charged lot more still , and couple packages never even made it or only some of it
The place is a mess so i guess you cant blame um for wanting something on the side
