Paris to Tokyo in Under 2 and a Half Hours
Nice bit of optimism in the news for a change. This would be amazing, people never bargain on the way technology adapts - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/tr...alf-hours.html
I actually reckon this will end up being available to more people much sooner. Again, the development of other technology which could lessen the cost and otherwise aid production isn't taken into account.
Others think that using the same idea it would be possible to eventually fly London to Australia in the same amount of time.

Its far more interesting to stage on the way and see some interesting places rather than go the whole way all at once. RAF crews found it much more pleasant to fly around the world on the older slower transport aircraft then the swish and much faster VC10, as good an aircraft as it still is.

The Lockhead Blackbird flew at 2.5 times the speed of sound back in the 60's
You would have thought this technology would have been mainstream by now wouldn't you.
Would be fantastic to be able to travel to New York in 90 minutes! Imagine the possibilities. Would be even greater if they managed to do it for the same price as a current economy flight
