Argentina - S**t Stirring Again
Oh dear, not a very tactful speech, is it? What's worrying is that she sounds as if she would actually consider doing something about it.

Not much they can do really, just make rhetoric.
Same old South American story of popularism, demagoguery etc
But having said that imperialsim isn't very popular in this day and age and nativism is, if it went to the UN then some compromise would have to be thrashed out which would not be in our favour.

Thing is, imperialism is really over for us. We claim sovereignty over the Falklands just because that's the way it has been for a long time and the people there are happy with it. Argentina certainly have no more of a claim over it, especially considering the way their country and then their administering of the Falklands came about. It's hypocritical nonsense.

The Argentinians got a very bloody nose last time. The presidents popularity is on the wain and the economy in the toilet so she is trying to stir up some feelings of nationalism and boost her standing and take her peoples thoughts from their current sh*t state.
The Falklands is now well defended and supplied and it would be a very bad day out for the Argies' if they tried it on again...

If it comes down to a vote on the Islands then surely the Argies could just sent several thousand asylum seekers there to 'take over'? We can't deport them after all and seem to have to give them full rights.

If the UN would seriously consider asking UK to hand over the Falklands to Argentina then surely they would also have to consider asking the ethnic Spanish majority in Argentina to hand it back to the ethnic Incas, Mapuche and other indigenous tribes they displaced.

This is only due to the oil and gas being discovered around the Falkland islands now anyways.
The people there are British, they will stay British as they don`t want to be Argentinian!!

One of them already has in the article in the original post. He has given up his British passport and swapped it for an Argentinian I.D. Card. Even though his dad fought against the Argies during the war!

We have zero aircraft carriers ,armed forces cuts ,no U.S help
They could walk it in theory
Edited to say the U.S called the falklands the malvinas which is clear cut (oil is wealth)

I went to both a few years ago. Our Argentinian tour guide did not realise we were English (we were on a bus full of Yanks) and spent the whole time ranting about the Malvinas. According to her the kids at school are taught from a young age how we stole the islands and they will never drop the issue.
The conscripts that were sent out there during the conflict had no idea they were going to such a desolate place, from all the talk of the islands they thought they were going to some sort of paradise, not a place that's so windy there isn't a single tree.

I think we should should have carried on after the last war and invaded Argentina properly. Its a tin pot corrupt Spainsh colony any way. We should invade and make it part of the British Empire, we can send those tapas eating football cheats back to Spain with all the other sangria drinking bullock rapists.

If they want it they can easily take it. We dont have a navy that could respond like the last time. I cant see the French letting us use the carrier that we part rent. The US are now favouring the Argentinians due to the oil reserves. So we wouldnt get the use of Asencion Island as a refueling stop which means we cant fly there with military planes. We have a few hundred troops and a few knackered spareless planes on the islands.
Thanks to call me Dave we are no longer a world power.
So if the Argies make a move it's gone for good.

I have seen the typhoons in action and I would hardly call them knackered old planes.

They dont have more than a handful with even less qualified pilots and they dont have spares, the ten rounds per plane would run out as would the fuel on the islands before they could be resupplied.

In 1982, Argieland was under a token Kissinger-Mandated anticommunist dictatorship, with all the torture (including electrocuting of Human Science teacher's genitalia and drowning ppl in their own ****), random rape, and death by crucifixion this entails. They soon realized that something had to be done to distract the populace from the random killings, though. It was then that faggoty leader Leopoldo Galtieri devised his master plan. As less wasted leaders did in the past, he would pay FIFA to let Argentina win the World Cup, and everyone would be happy. However, for no apparent reason, he went bat**** insane and decided to go down to teh dockz to gather rowing boats for the Argentinian Military to invade the Falklands. In at least one month of extremely intense preparation he amassed the following forces: An old rustbucket cruiser 300 wooden boats Modified fishing ships 2 rubber dinghies A bunch of plastic canoes A donkey Two ****ing Exocet missiles because the French got scared. If Galtieri(who was son of stinky italian immigrants) had anymore, he probably sold them on the black market A bunch of crop dusters armed with Ancient Chinese rockets 50 WWI tanks 500 18th century cannons 5,000 infantrymen with muskets, hunting rifles, kitchen knives, and paintball guns
