I've been trying to live on 1500 to 1800 calories a day for the last 3 weeks. I am trying to get rid of a slight bit of fat on my abs.

It's very hard to keep your calories at 1500 for a guys. It's hardly any food at all.

Beer is the killer. Having 4 pints on Saturday night at that is like 1000 calories I think?

Anyway I can see some effect now after 3 weeks. I loose weight fairly easy, just need to indulge less in things like rounds of bread with meals in future and less choc bars.

doing some more physical activity means you can relax your diet to a more comfortable point.

because if its painful - its just not sustainable, hence you get the yo-yo dieters.

its a whole life style change you need not a 10 week diet. (not meaning you but for general overweight people)

but that isnt as bad as it sounds, get out on a bike, once you get a wee endorphine release, youll fingd excersise can be fun and not just a chore.
then you can adapt your diet - and eat as we were designed to with, a healthy, balanced diet.
healthy food can actually be very nice and filling. plus your allowed your bit of rubbish with it.

good ;luck

I totally cut bread out of my diet and have never felt better, lost over a stone, less irritable and have more energy than I have had in years. Makes me wonder if I had some sort of intolerance to the stuff.

wheat allergies fairly common

but generally its down to fluid intake and carb intake/timing/type which is responsible for water retention

along with the possibility of hormone issues in some people - estrogen = water lol

trying to just eat enough clean carbs a day just to maintain your daily expendature

also keep protein at decent levels, if you build a bit of muscle, it burns calories by just existing.

so the more muscle you have the more calories you burn, even at rest.

deviated slightly there lol

I used to be into weightlifting and the general consensus was to have some complex carbs before a workout such as oats or whole wheat bread before a workout. Thing is shortly after eating this I would feel like going to sleep not working out. Now I get most of my carbs from fruit, nuts or brown rice and feel way better.

yeah the carbs cause insulin spike in response to increase in blood sugar

you can get reactive hypoglycemia from eating carbs at wrong times.

but anywayb its the insulin that makes you feel tired

everyones different so you have to monitor and adjust things to suit you
