Even the Gruaniad got in on the act:

What may be the science story of the century is breaking this evening, as heavyweight US solar physicists announce that the Sun appears to be headed into a lengthy spell of low activity, which could mean that the Earth – far from facing a global warming problem – is actually headed into a mini Ice Age.

Which is what makes one particular item on the group’s discussion agenda so tremendously significant. See if you can spot the one I mean:
The 58th Bilderberg Meeting will be held in Sitges, Spain 3 – 6 June 2010. The Conference will deal mainly with Financial Reform, Security, Cyber Technology, Energy, Pakistan, Afghanistan, World Food Problem, Global Cooling, Social Networking, Medical Science, EU-US relations.

Well the Met says that we're going to experience the hottest years between 2010-2015. The IPCC say that we may be in a period of cooling and that this is a natural cycle where cooling is only temporary before man made influences will over power this natural cycle to a warming trend, a trend that hasn't happened since 1998 nor predicted by IPCC's climate models. The problem is the majority of the IPCC studies set out to prove that all the warming in the past 100 years is soley caused by human activity rather other potential causes. They still continue this mantra and are only setting themselves up for a big fall.
I think the people in general and the media are becoming ever more sceptical about AGW. I can't remember the last time I saw a news article about the climate "tipping point" or the poor polar bears or an ice free summer at the north pole, not since the "climategate" scandal anyways, not even in the trashy tabloid papers.

The biggest scam is the global trade of "carbon credits", financial instruments setup by Governments to be traded between countries whereby richer countries can buy more credits to pollute more and stifling development in third world countries. Typically bought by rich countries at low rates from poorer counties and sold back to other poorer countries at a higher rate.

I did mention some time ago that if the Earth does get subjected to another "Maunder Minimum" as happed all those years ago when the sunspots just about disappeared and it was so cold that it was called a mini Ice Age. The Thames froze so much that they were able to have fairs on the ice in London. In 1962/3 a bloke was able to drive his Mini along the frozen river in Stamford Lincs. during our last very cold winter.
Maybe we will be encouraged to burn more carbon by the Greens to get a bit of global warming, who can say?
If it does happen the government etc will be destitute at losing the excuse to tax us all on global warming/climate change!
