What a surprise
Amazing driver and I'm looking forward to seeing the film. For me he'll always be the most amazing driver I think, I still watch F1 now but no-one comes close. Vettel is awesome but for a start his car is on a different level, when Senna was doing his thing the cars were a lot closer and it was talent that won the day.

The c.1988-1991 McLaren had nigh on 1000bhp IIRC and had stick gearshift (blimey, those were the days). The car was brutish. Have you seen that breathtaking incar footage of Senna, almost literally fighting the car, during that astonishing lap of Monaco?! It's mad mad mad!

Makes me go all goosebumpy.
Can't believe, with the benefit of hindsight, 'how much' (it's all relative lol ) the suspension moves around, even then. Was still very much an 'analogue' car, when compared to today's amazing, planted, state of the art machines.
Defo gotta watch the movie...

Anyone know how long the film is? I've seen mention of two versions, longer one version is 2 and something hours long, I think it has more interviews with people than the other one, which is presumably cut for pacing.
The TG special was rather good, but this is very, very good. Saw a clip with him at Monaco in the wet, where he stormed up the grid (think it was his first F1 race), didn't see that last Sunday did we Also sobering to see the lack of armco and suchlike back then.
Bottom line, if you have even the mildest interest in F1, watch the film.

I was lucky enough to see Senna racing on quite a few occasions and although you can only compare him to whoever he raced in that era he had an awful lot of brilliant drivers to compete against and at a time when drivers had more input into the car than today.
