Blurb - A poll on this word
#3
We'll some form of error happened when I posted originally
Now it doesn't let you add a poll, or delete the post.
So the choices would be
Perfectly acceptable word - I use it all the time
Never used it and don't ever intend to
I automatically think You're a **** for using that word in a sentence

Acceptable word, but I wouldn't expect to see it in a technical report.
When enquiring about the content of a book or DVD, "What does it say in the blurb?" is rather less formal than "What do the notes say on the dustjacket?"
Not an IT salesperson though.

I have most commonly seen it used in the phrase 'sales blurb' Like the info
you get over a car ad or any other product on TV or in a magazine.
I think it means your not taking their sales pitch too seriously.
It's been around for as long as I can remember & I am OLD!!!
