Hello
I had the horrible experience of someone cutting through the internet connection at work today.
So:
I couldn't check my e-mail. Possible work deals, and invites to parties have gone unchecked all day.
My wife went to see a specialist about something, and I wanted to find out more information. I didn't even know where to start without the internet.
I'm not an internet saddo (honest), but my life completely revolves around the vast array of information that is available to me.
Is everybody else the same or should I seek help?
Steve.

Agree 100%. I (and I would imagine many others) rely on the Internet for all kinds of things.
It's the same with mobile phones. Think back about 5 years ago when mobile were the size and weight of small bricks and only a few people had them, since buying one about 4 years ago I can't live without it. I left it at work once and had to get the security company out to unset our alarm just so that I could get my phone to check my messages, sad I know but it just shows.
The Internet can be a problem some times as there is just so much stuff available its difficult to know where to look sometimes.

email is critical to me. 90 percent of my work is done via email. We had a period where our email server was down, due to a spam message killing it (2000 plus names in the 'to:' field! ) this took at least 3 days to fix. suffice to say were were not best pleased. Plus when we relocated to our new US offices the internet connection was seriously fecked up, again, major hassle.
It does sound sad, but I do rely very heavily on email and the internet, and not just for looking at a certain bbs
MSN is a godsend when you are in a different country and need to 'chat' to people and give information that is difficult over the phone. Plus I'm telephobic
