Teach me about android (sorry yet another phone thread)
Although this 1, isn't a which is better thread, I just want to know how the Android OS works.
Can is be used on a mac, all the specs I've seen say windows pc, not a thing about mac.
Basically my contact is up for renual and I don't think the money iPhones go for now is worth it for what is essentially disposable electronics. That and I predict that the 5 is going to be hideous in price thanks to everything thats gone on in that area of the world.
Also, what are people on in terms of contracts, I'm currently looking at 1 of the sim only tariffs with internet add on.

I had iPhones 1, 2 and 3 and switched to HTC Legend Android 2.2 Froyo.
I also have a MacBook Pro. I have no problems.
I have everything sync'd up with my google account.

Today's PC/Intel hardware can run Linux, Win7 or "MacOS" - if you buy your PC via apple you pay a 400% premium - that's one expensive OS - hence why Apple has $60bn of your cash in their bank ready to spend...

Go look up the differences between hardware and software

Try to think of the bigger picture and you'll find that 400%. Apple offer a hardware and software solution that are perfectly matched, although not unique it will always win over a disparate system.

Si,
No issues using a Mac with an Android phone. All setup of your phone is via the handset anyway, or use any old browser to do contacts etc. on your Google account.
If you want to sync music from iTunes (if you use it) to your Android, use a widget like "iTuneMyWalkMan" to do all the hard work. I sync my Nexus S phone (Android) and my Galaxy Tab (Android) with the iTunes on my Mac no problem.
Cheers
Ian
