UK retail sales suffer worst fall on record
Finally, and at long last, people seem to have stopped spending .... it's taken a while!
Sadly, it means no Interest Rate hike

Pete, why don't you just post the link to the bbc news/business website?
It's not like you get points for being the first one with the story, despite what you might think.

Title should be changed to:
I have no life so try to appear 'important' by being the first person to copy the title of a news story on the BBC website.
That would make a lot more sense Pete.
Although even I admit, that title may be just a tad too long.
Why not just title everything 'LOSER POST'?

I work in retail, this clearly is sector dependant since we are doing fine thank you...
If you actually looked into it PSL interest rate changes were declared by the BOE on the 7th, so what "hike" are you talking about??....bank of Englands board sit once a month, out of the 9 of them more voted to keep at current rate, rather than increase it thats it for this month, so what are you talking about with the "sadly no interest rate hike" and posting it today?...was decided last week....
most financial types suggest a rate rise not before June, possibly as late as August. Niether of which will matter to you since your old, and parkinsons will have hold by then.

Of course, if you look at the news from a different angle ... ie. jobs in retail lost then it deserves a thumbs down.
Another angle may be that Interest Rates won't rise anytime soon, then a thumbs up.
Myself, I think that people saving and paying off credit and paying down Mortgage debt is a massive thumbs up - hence my marking

Just about everything which is discussed on this forum has an entry which can be scrutinised on the Net.If anything, you are the one with the unecessary posts about what Pete said.
