Japan: Tsunami warning issued after new earthquake
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-13005110
A tsunami warning has been issued for north-eastern Japan after an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 struck off the east coast of Honshu.
However, there has been no detectable effect at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant damaged in last month's quake and tsunami, nor at two other nuclear plants in the area, officials say.
The Japanese authorities have ordered an evacuation from the warning zone.
Fukushima workers were also evacuated.
The tsunami was predicted to have a wave 2m (6ft) high.
Thursday's quake was 118km (78 miles) north of Fukushima, 40km offshore. It was initially reported to have a magnitude of 7.4 but has now been revised downwards to 7.1, according to the US Geological Survey.
Quake map
The quake was strong enough to shake buildings in Tokyo, 265km to the south.
Japan's meteorological agency issued tsunami warnings and advisories for a stretch of coast 420km long, from Aomori prefecture in the north to Ibaraki prefecture in central Japan, just north of Tokyo.

Most people with internet or a tv will know its happened. I thought scoobynet was about cars and **** but incidentally its just about reporting news at the soonest opportunity just so someone can say that they see it first
You may want to change the title to "oh, its ok no tsunami"
Hence what a pointless post in the wrong section

Did anyone see that strange bright blue light on the Tokyo horizon during the after-shock? Sky were showing footage and reckon it could be an electro-magnetic phenomenon associated with quakes..

Warning to all - never post news or current events first, wait for someone else to do so...oh, no wait a minute, that doesn't work now does it...
If you hadn't noticed SN has different forums, this one is called Non Scooby Related and people post all sorts of things in here, threads about Tsunami's and earthquakes for instance and other people comment on them, its what makes it a forum.
Now then, i make this simple and am typing slowly so you can keep up. If you do not like a thread then you do not have to comment, you can ignore it.
Stop being a whiny little girl and jog on to the part of the forum where they talk cars (and in your case) ****, there's a good lad

I am stationed in Misawa, Japan, And definitely felt the quake at 11:45ish pm. Woke me up, and my flight called me and sent people out to check on everyone. We lost power for about 14 hours.
