Not often do i have anything of any use to say of late. But a very dear friend of mine and my family recently had to deal with the loss of her long time fiance. Blown up by a roadside bomb in Afganistan going about his work as many other soldiers have been in helmand province.
God what a hell hole of a place, it may sound obvious but i just knew something was going to happen to him when he went back last year, within 2 months of his return it happened. A very dark day in my life that i will never forget.
Well, 12 months on his fiance still misses him more than ever but she is doing something so good you guys need to be told about it. She has started a charity to aid others that have lost and will lose relatives in the coming months , years.
Mainly with financial help to families of the victims and the financial burden these families incur once the body has been returned to them. It all sounds a bit 'Joe Blunt' but the fact is the expenses add up. ie getting to and from barracks, Royal Wooten Basset journey, funeral expenses etc etc. All the things you have to do in a situation like this are immense and this charity has been set up to aid this and help carry some of the burden.
Well i shall not go on, take a look for yourselves she is an absolute diamond girl and so was Scott Hardy who the charity was set up for. And more than anything give what you can afford no matter how small.
Sadly missed God bless you Scott Scott Hardy foundation
