"Royal" Wooton Bassett
The Queen will grant the word "Royal" to Wooton Bassett as a sign of gratitude to the townspeople soon.
This coincides with the announcement of the move from RAF Lyneham to Brize Norton on 1st September for all repatriation flights.
The cortege will probably go through Witney instead.

Glad to see that the support for our forces from Wooton Bassett is being officially recognised.

Heard this on the news and immediately thought that it's one of those little things the gov. has condescended to allow us to have so we forget all the financial woes we're in and the lack of manifesto pledges the "coalition" have honoured. Trying to make us feel proud in our country and it's armed forces when they're selling us down the river ....

I don't think most people need that much encouragement to respect our troops and their brave actions.
I think we are unlucky enough to have the worst bunch of two faced politicians on all sides of the house however.
