Default Sending recorded delivery letter to DVLA?

Due to recent nuptials i need to get the Wife's licence changed with the new details. It's not sommat they do online so it requires documentation sending to them directly. Now they don't accept photo copies so i need to send them her old photo licence, passport and our wedding cert. I'm a little nervous at sending these documents via the good old royal mail. I assume it's ok to send things to the dvla recorded? Their site doesn't say you shouldn't.
On the other hand, we have a dvla office in leeds - the website doesn't make it clear what they can and can't do there. I don't fancy queing for ages to find out that new licences have to be done from Swansea.
Thanks or any input

to be honest for the extra you would pay i would send it special delivery so you know it will get there, as we all know recorded delivery goes in the same bag as ordinary post.

Brun, I had exactly the same dilemma when I changed my surname recently. I sent everything Inc original copy of the deedpole to the dvla recorded. Got my new licence back within a week followed the next day by all documents in a separate sealed envelope.

Remember to send in her v5 for her car to the other address - I nearly forgot to do this lol.

Yeah, send by special delivery, £5.05 iirc.
I seem to remember that they returned them by standard mail

If you are changing the photo or changing the address, you can do it at some post offices all it says about changing your name is take some proof with you. I have to renew my photo so have the form here on my desk.

If I have to post anything to a government agency I always send it by recorded delivery. They can't deny having received it then.
