Red face WEIRDEST 'PHOBIAS'...?!?!

I don't like swimming pool drains and the outlet jets on the sides. Or a drained swimming pool, exposing all the plumbing orifices.

Indeed, any man-made stuff under water freaks me out i.e. an open loo cistern, a drained public fountain exposing the plumbing, etc.

Also, big man-made stuff in the sea... Buoys and their clanging bell and that giant chain disappearing into the depths!!! WTF?! Large ships' hulls in the water showing the plimsol line, etc. Old wooden piers' large wooden support legs; canals' lock gates, etc, etc... <shudder>

Also don't like large freestanding structures like old windmills or very big lighthouses, etc.

What are your weirdest 'phobias'?....

My missus has a phobia of the stickers, especially if the sticky side is dirty! Weird as ****, she just can't deal with them.

My sister can't stand nodding donkeys (the oil extraction device, not an agreeable beast of burden), she can't even watch films when they're on, she has to leave the room.
Odd eh? I don't take the ****. Much

Guy at work is scared of tall buildings, literally cant go to big cities.

I know what you mean about the water based stuff, not a phobia with me, just a slightly morbid curiosity and a bit of mild alarm, dams and all the stuff you mentioned but it doesn't affect me, just makes me more cautious.

Bet you dont find living on this a nice prospect !

Yeah, I suppose it's a bit strong to say "phobia"... Just feel really uneasy in their presence, etc. That's why I 'ironised' the word 'phobia' in the thread title...

I wouldn't regard that as a phobia either...... More of a sex aid.

Banana Skins for me.

Those nodding donkeys are pretty creepy actually. Not sure if its because they seem to operate in the middle of nowhere by themselves or what.

A phobia isn't something you just don't like, it is way deeper than that.

Yeah I know - it's an irrational fear. It freezes you with fear, etc.

That's why I wrote 'phobia'. A slight bit of sensationalism to get people's attention.

The things I mentioned I'd say I was more 'emotionally disturbed/alarmed by...'

You wouldn't like this then: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgur...w=1440&bih=666

I've walked out to that a few times as a lad, you have to be BLOODY quick on the turn-round if you don't want to get cut off by the incoming tide, it comes in faster than a man can RUN there
