Default Little girl needs help getting to america for treatment

My mum is a nursery manager for kids age 6 months to 3 years and there is a little girl in the nursery who has cancer ( I believe a tumer on her optic nerve)and needs to go to America for treatment as treatment in the UK has failed and she has been told we can do no more for her although America can. The cost for this is around 70k in total for the 3 months she needs to be there. I am looking to set up a dedicated PayPal Email address for any donations that anybody would like to give in order to help this happen. Just want to check whether there is any rules on this I need to know about from the mods before I set all this up and post details. This is a legitimate cause and many people are already involved in helping including Nikki Sanderson (ex coronation street actress) who was in Barnsley town centre collecting with a bucket along with a group of volunteers others last Saturday. I have 2 children myself and I cant imagine what her parents are going through right now.

helpebonie@gmail.com - Use this email for all donations through paypal, remember to send as gift so no fees are charged

she has had the tumer removed twice in the uk and its come back both times, apparantly the uk doesnt have the facilities the USA does to treat this, the last operation had risks of sending her blind due to been on the optic nerve. Luckily (if thats the appropriate phrase) it didnt and she can still see but it still came back,

She is no relation to me and i havnt met her yet but ive taken it upon myself to help all i can as my mum is getting quite involved with fund raising and is very close to the little girl.

Yes it certainly does, when i look at what ive spent on my car over the last year, if half the members on here donated just £1 it would cover the cost easily. And individually whats a £1 really.

I would pm the admin on here (Stu, Kieran or Sally) and see what they say. I would be more than willing to Paypal over even just a small donation as it all adds up.

See what a pm or email on here gets you

I'd set up a 'Just Giving' page instead. That looks less dodgy and everyone can see the amount raised.

also im not sure if im offended by this actually, its certainly not dodgy and if anybody wants to check up on this the pdf file contains information on the nursary where she attends when well enough. Anybody want to confirm this is "not dodgy" can call 01226 320510 and the place your calling is buddies childrens center.

Don't be offended fella, it is just generally the done thing. Like counting the money when you sell a car, not meant as offensive but you do it

As said it would be good to have a page set up so you have a link to show people and they can keep track of whats been donated.

Only take a couple mins and as said I'm more than willing to add a donation

Just had a look i will try and set one up. Only issue i see is thery take 5% which on the 70k Target means they take £3500 of the money raised. And we all know how hard it is going to be to raise this figure

A charity is a particular type of voluntary organisation - one that takes a distinctive legal form. Charities must provide benefit to the public, not to a specific individual

Just tried to register a charity and legally i cant for the above reason stated on the goverment website

http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk...p/default.aspx

Just giving wont allow me to set up a donate page to anything thats not a registered charity. And legally i cant register it.

What started out as trying to help sumbody who really needs it now from posts on here looks like im trying to do somthing dodgy. Anybody who still wants to donate can. Ive just forwarded this link to my mother for her to check out and she is going to now see this after i told her people were wanting to help. If i was a new member yes i would understand but im an authorised advertiser on here come on
