The Promise Ch4
Did anybody else watch this.
I wasn't expecting much from it, thought it would be a bit slow and boring.
But I have to say it has been one of the best things on TV I have watched in a long time.
A very well written and quite gripping story line.
Definitely worth a watch on 4od if you have a few hours spare.

The same happened to me. For some reason my free view box stops recording shows when they start again on the +1 channels. Then the second recording stops recording once the first one has finished. So I never get the end.

I have been watching it
quite harrowing viewing (especially last night episode)-- I thought the central British Army character was absolutely brilliantly acted
she got a tad annoying

A good drama on the whole and an interesting take on the conflict. Very thought provoking...

After watching it, my overriding opinion was what a bunch of absolute ***** the Isrealis are.
The most poignant line was "surely you of all people should realise how wrong it is to kill people because of who they are".
Shame the Arab nations weren't better organised in 1948 really.
The girl in it just got on my nerves though, I have to say. When she chained herself to the pillar, I was hoping the IDF would blow her up........
