Wedding vows
#1
I've finally admitted there is another love in my life, other than my scooby, and I've recently proposed to her. We're down to write our own wedding vows ... any suggestions or ideas welcome.
Thanks

think it goes like:
Him "I promise to love, honour and cherish whenever I can be arsed"
Her "I promise to obey, clean, obey, go down, obey and iron"
obviously my own wife never looks at Scoobynet

<sigh> Men
We've got some nice ones the registrar suggested (we're gettin' married at a hotel in the New Forest ), but I can't remember them exactly - I can however post them tonight when I get home if that's not too late?

Thanks for all the replies.
Jen - if you do have some pointers we'd appreciate them. By the way we went to a smashing wedding reception in the New Forest the other week - Rhinefield House - don't suppose this is where you're having yours?

A*se! Completely forgot! (My Mums making my wedding dress and brought it over last night...got a bit distracted!)
Right, I'll write it on my hand and I'll post them first thing when I get home tonight...should be about 6:30ish, sorry!
We did look at the Rhinefield and it was a stunning hotel! But we wanted a BBQ kindof informal type thing which Rhinefield weren't keen on, so the Forest Lodge in Lyndhurst was our choice as they can do whatever we like
Hope the plannings goin' ok for you, I never knew there was so much to organise!

Jen - don't worry too much about this, it sounds as though you've enough on your plate right now. We're off to see our minister bloke at the weekend to kick some ideas around, but our wedding isn't for another year yet!! It sounds as though yours is fast approaching?

Right! As promised, this is what we were given as suggestions by the registrar, might be good for ideas anyway...
This is what we're going to use : " I will love you and will try to bring happiness and laughter throughout our lives together. I will love and care for you, have patience and understanding and be there for you when you need me for all our married life." I think Chris liked the "try" in the first line
Others: "Day by day I promise to love you and honour you, to treasure you and to respect you, to walk with you side by side in joy and sorrow".
"I promise to love and cherish you for all that you are and all that you become".
"All that I have I share with you, all that I am I give to you, I commit myself to our marriage".
"I acknowledge my love and respect for you and invite you to share my life as I hope to share yours. I promise to recognise you as an equal individual at all times and to be conscious of your development as well as my own".
"I give you this ring as a token of my love and affection/I accept this ring as a token of our love and commitment".
...hope that gives you some ideas...
Good luck!

Much appreciated Jen, they sound perfect. We're off down the pub now to see if some alcohol improves our imagination.
Good Luck for you & yours on your BIG DAY!!!!
