Default School complaints

Hey all, please help out with a little advice if you've got any ideas...

If you had an issue with your child's education/school and couldn't get it resolved at local level, what is a good next step...?

Not my personal issue; asking for a family member...

Thanks in advance for any help...

Bri.

They've tried to stay local but not had a satisfactory resolution...apparently even the local MP said it was a LEA issue but it's a vicious circle.

They've thought about going to the local press for all the good that will do but I've told them to hang slack on that.

There must be a recourse of action if the local authority are not handling it properly...?

We had a problem with the bairns school, he had a gang of 20+ kids giving him hassle cos he'd given the ring leader a good clip one day, showing him up in front of his hangers on. Lad I work with is married to a senior education welfare officer, so I asked her advice, as soon as I mentioned I had a friend in that position you could actually hear the head of years **** tightening up

This is simple ..... ask for the name of the Chair of Governors.

Write to them pointing out the problems and asking for a meeting with a selection of Governors.

Who will pass it STRAIGHT to the head, since governors, on their own, have NO authority whatsoever and even in a group, have VERY little.

You really do get above yourself with this "chair of the governors" stuff, don't you Pete?
