Park too scarey for police
Apparantly Police officers have been banned from patroling a park after 8pm as its a health and safety hazard So Police officer are here to protect as long as they aren't put in a situation where they could possibly sue?

Why would they need to go there unless a crime has been committed...to play on the swings? Its not Police's job to empty the park after all. That's a job for the park owner. Common sense not to put staff into areas where there is nothing for them to do and there is a risk of slip / trip / fall. Far better they patrol areas where crime is being reported and the risk is proportionate to the task in hand. By the way it was too dangerous, not too scary.

Go Sky..
"I would like to make it clear that my comments have been taken completely out of context.
"I never said that the park is a 'no-go' area for my officers. We will always police all parts of Wisbech and respond positively to local policing needs.
"The park has its own security guard in place from 2000 GMT every night.
"Anti-social behaviour at the park was adopted as a neighbourhood policing priority.
"If we are contacted about a problem there, then of course we will provide a police response, as you would expect us to."

Typical Sky.
I'm sure it would go down well if someone died due to no police officers being available, due to them patrolling an empty park.
Surely a flood light would solve the problem. But then I bet the same people that complain about the yobs would object to such a light being installed.
