Default Speed cameras - great to be in lancashire

I knew there was a good reason for living in Lancashire, only 10% of the speed cameras are working

Yes yes, but that is not same as hurtling towards one knowing that you have a 10% chance of being caught.... a motorist's Russian Roulette if you will

No, but we have that irritating little camera van, parking up anywhere he can catch folks. Certainly not in high risk areas. Usually, at the bottom of a hill or on the outskirts of a trading estate. Catching folks in a hurry to get home

But...

Residential speed limits in Lancashire cut to 20mph

...which will probably mean every road with street-lights (even though the one in the BBC picture doesn't actually appear to have any!!).

I thought they were removing the one near me in Brierly the other day, instead they have just replaced it with a new slimmer version

I saw 2 OAPs with a police officer wiggling one of those all over the shop the other day. They were more likely to get the speed of a low flying bird than an accurate reading of a car.

Sad but true. They were even boasting on the TV about how they can catch more people in certain spots as they couldnt be seen before it was too late. I thought that the whole point was to be seen so that they would slow down rather than rack up the number of tickets they issue.
