No matter how much you spend on headphones, you'll still hear those voices...

Sennheiser HD595's are the dogs bawls at that price. I would love a set but my HD495's just don't get enough use to upgrade. Grado SR80's get great reviews but i just don't rate the build quality to be honest.

What are you using them for? I have a set of HD25-II's and they are very, very good. But I use them for mixing and if I was looking for something for some other use I might not think they are 100% suitable. IYSWIM.

What are you going to use them for?

There are monitor headphones, DJ ones, wireless ones, noise cancelling headphones etc, etc.

If they're anything like the ones I hear, headphones don't work.

Beat me to it

I've got Sennheisers but will be getting some Pioneer HDJ2000/500's as the lack of bass is annoying when beatmatching/cueing tracks.

big new store over here had headphones set up by make, also set up so you can listen to different music types through them. Tried the Sennheiser's dearest set there and sady bad distortion at high volume esp the bass.

Moved to the Bose section tried the best on their stand and they were many many times better with no distortion.

Oh yeh gadget show did a headphone test in the last series and they also chose Bose.

Yes I do like Bose but only cos it's very good. Snobby music types don't but let them carry on. Each to their own I say.

Lol the reason for that is they're 3x more than what they're worth never been a fan of bose.

As for the sennheisers distorting what was the source?

I would put another vote down for the HD595's

If you crave bass have a look at beyers as well

Each set of head phones had their own stand and their own music source. /you had a choice of 3 diff genres of music. Price wise they were pretty much like for like.

I'm not fibbing honest I was shocked - not at the Bose but the poor perfromance of the Sennheisers.

Like I said each to their own !!

PS. I don't crave bass it's just where the Sennheisers let themselves down. I Like a good alround sound, but I do like my music LOUD

I have a pair of Bose OE audio headphones - think they are brill!! Music is so crisp and clear!!
Well worth the price and very easy to carry around as they fold up small in a small case.

£120 on bose website but look around as you can get them cheaper. Paid £100 for mine on a deal at Dixon's in Luton Airport.

The shop may have rigged the setup in order to sell bose that have massive markups.

Go look at any bose hifi demo and spot just how many subs they have to run to bolster the sound.

HD-580 Jubilee on Ebay if you can find any. Sennheiser's best. I prefer them to 650s.

imo people will be put off by the price as it seems way too low for genuine beats. a 2nd hand pair goes for £200+ on ebay

Now we're talking.

I have some Grado electrostatics and they blow everything (bar the above, possibly), into the weeds. So over-engineered it's ridiculous!
