Glad it wasnt jsut mine that went up. I phoned for the MAC code monday morning, they asked if I was leaving due to price or quality. I told them both, to which she said they could lower my bill to the ammount it was before they decided to add £5 too it without informing me. I told them politely where to shove it. The MAC code got emailed to my tiscali account on Wednesday and I've signed up with BT now.

Got my mac code from virgin within 10 minutes, ordered BT Infinity with a 2 week wait for the engineer install. Equipment arrived on Wednesday, engineer due between 8am and 1 pm today ... guess what ... they didn't turn up. Phoned BT and was told they had to cancel due to an exchange problem. Pity they forgot to tell me they weren't coming.

Odd to see moves to BT. Out of the frying pan and all that.

Couldn't think of anything worse than BT for just about anything (except Talk Talk )

I was with BT for 10 yrs without problem, stupidly went to Virgin on price alone. Biggest mistake i ever made. slow speed, continual disconnections, suffered this for 6 months. Yes i'm looking forward to getting back with BT. When they turn up that is.

http://www.zen.co.uk/

These guys are very good with uk call centre, been a year with them.

Was with talk talk for a week & told them to shove it, had the small problem that turned into a major f**kup solely due to the 'fantastic' customer service

Talk talk do our calls, wont be for much longer

BE do our broadband , superb all round

BT do our line rental nothing else.

After 5 years of fannying around with inclusive calls bundles and bull**** sales options, we have got our phone line & broadband where we want it.

Just looking to a monthly calls option now

Can definitely recommend Zen or Be for broadband.

If your supplier doesn't give you your MAC code within 5 days then report them immediately to Ofcom. I've done it in the past, they gave me a reference number and a special high escalation phone number for the ISP involved. Had my MAC code pretty quickly after calling that number. That was BT and I needed MAC codes for 100 connections.

Best thing I ever did was leave Talk$hite.

They cut off my broadband when I changed 'phone package without telling me I couldn't have one with the other.
They admitted it was their mistake but they still hadn't got me reconnected nearly 8 weeks later.

Told them to poke it and went to Plusnet - connected within the week

I am at my Mums trying to sort her PC out, she said the internet seemed a bit slow.

Talk talk seem to think everything is fine, bearing in mind it is usually an 8meg connection

Have you tried the other test you can do? The noise one?

Have a look here

http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/linestats.htm#attenuation

Have you checked the line for noise?

The quality of our line is very poor. Only get about 3 or 4 meg at most, irrespective of provider. I can just about play online and stream Iplayer.

I was having major billing dramas with Talk Talk. Tried to sort it but on hold for ages, foreign call centers, usual poor service.... until they were on Watchdog a couple of months back. After that a new email address was given for Talk Talk senior management. I sent my complaint off and to be fair it was sorted within days and not had a problem since! 

If only I could say the same about CarPhone Warehouse. They put Talk Talk to shame for their customer service. They are a bunch of *****!!

Been with BT since we left Talktalk 3 years ago. A few minor issues with BT all that have been sorted out with then compensating me along the way.

No plans on leaving them as I am happy with the deal I negotiate with them at renewal, if they do it agin this year we will be staying with them again.
