Moving house!
Hi all,
I am moving house next Friday, and have been at my current address for the last 15 years so am a little bit out of sorts with the processes.
Has anyone done it lately and got any tips? My main question is how do I sort out my energy suppliers once in the new house?
I have sorted my broadband and TV (first things first A! )
It is a little bit stressful to say the least but at least the scoob will have a nice big garage to go to sleep in!
Anyway any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

I think your energy company will deal with it if you are moving within their area.
Also don't forget to redirect your mail.

Hi
Well if you are happy with your current energy suppliers then contact them to tell them you are moving etc and they will make all the changes for you, this helps clear things up at your old house and starts things from scratch at your new home so probably is the easiest way.
However the current owners of your new house should give you the details of who is supplying them now and then you can contact them when you move in.
Just remember to take gas and electric readings as soon as you move in!!!
Good Luck with the move!

Get the Royal Mail to redirect your post for 12 months. Not 3 or 6 but 12! Costs peanuts and makes life so much simpler. a) no need to rely on the new owners to forward mail on time especially if b) something urgent comes along that from someone you've forgotten to notify of your change your address!
Plus, you'll have forgotten to inform Aunty Gladys of your new address so she'll be sending Xmas cards to the old place. And you wouldn't want that would you ...

Sold house & completing Wednesday week.
Once again, though I swear every time will be the last, doing it all myself. However, this time it should be easier because wife's new place is available the weekend before we complete which means that I can concentrate on moving her stuff the 8 miles she needs doing.
Already have a skip in place for rubbish, have had 2 bonfires, sorted the 3 sheds, the upstairs of the garage and sorted the garage into hers (to move), mine, charity, rubbish etc. I've already moved most of my stuff out over the last couple of years, so its just a matter of boxing the rest and adding to my "pile".
So up on Saturday to finish packing, Sunday start to move her, Monday collect large LWB from work, load with heavy stuff and move the rest of her stuff. Tuesday, load van with my stuff & finish errands. Clean house for new people, Wednesday do all the meter readings (water, electric) & hand over keys. Wait for the money ( ) then drive van back to London with my stuff.
I was going to drive straight over to my mums in Ireland but that'll make it all a bit harder/more stressful!
Best piece of advice is to get someone to move you
That & get loads of boxes
