I tend to find the only people critical of apple products don't actually own them!

Video chat is nothing new but FaceTime just implements it in a fuss free perfect way!

I'm very impressed with Apple TV right now, once again it does what it's supposed to and does it with incredible ease. Some might say that they have a box that plays every format known to Pirates hence theirs is better, but I know that inside that black box is the heart of an iPhone 4 and all that potential, Apps on TV anyone?

My iPhone 4 money just got blown on a new Macbook, thanks Mr D. Addict. Luckily my 3GS still impresses me every day - seen Word Lens? - so I don't feel too left out.

I use facetime to see my little daughter on the MacBook at home, best thing about jailbreaking a iPhone FaceTime over 3G

That works well actually Jack as tried that too as am a huge fan of Skype, but as someone above said Facetime is just so fuss free. Seriously impressed.

It runs in the background on a PC or Mac. On the iPhone Skype is very good and runs in the background (on Os4/3GS or higher) BUT it just eats battery life. One of the great uses for it is if you want to run out of battery quickly so you can recharge the phone from 0%.

Skype seems temperamental on battery eating, some days it chews threw it in an hour, some days I don't notice it's sitting there until someone calls. I try to keep it running all the time as my UK mobile number redirects to my Skype-in number which rings here in Spain, works very well even shows who's calling but as you say can eat the battery.

You can tell FaceTime use email instead of phone number. Your daughter will need to add your email you use on your iPhone in her contacts then click on the contact then they'll be a facetime option

Cool

I have iPod Touch 4g, but, it stores the original password you used to verify your apple ID for Facetime. So, if you ever change your password on your Apple ID and need to re-verify Facetime on your touch, it will never work again for that id.

That's pretty poor, I had to set up a new Apple ID just for Facetime (the alternative was to do a factory reset on it it so it was like new and then re-downlaod all the apps. You cannot do a restore as this restores the old password, doh!.

Before the fanboys jump in and say I don't know what I am doing, this was confirmed by Apple Support, so I had to pay for the privelege on their support line to be told that their product has a basic fault in it, which they seem to have no intention of fixing.

That said, I do think it's a great device, but Apple fail in so many ways, they really are no better then MS at all.

Don't even get me started on iTunes.........

It is quite cool when it works just so well. Spoke to a very good mate of mine a while back who lives in Moscow. He had it on facetime in the office, then walked out of his building and then had a chat with him whilst he was outside his office, very clear and brilliant sound. Didnt drop once and he even showed me around the streets of moscow where he worked (wifi permitting )

Love my iPhone 4 , Had it a few months now and it still keeps amazing me on what it can do , Call the daughter in the UK all the time on Facetime and the PQ is just amazing , I walk around the house and garden showing her what proper snow looks like
Daughter number 2 got a Mac-book for Christmas and she's equally impressed with how it just does things so easily and and without any fuss .

And just when I am prepared to give it a chance the iPhone 4 fails at a primary hurdle. The alarm didn't work this morning, turns out no one's did - a rather large bug in the OS apparently. No fix issued so far but putting the alarm on repeat fixes it.

Quick Reply: iPhone 4 - OK so maybe I was a bit hasty...
