Now without being funny, would you not have to be there for 11.59pm to see the fireworks

We went last year. Arrived at the London Eye at 8.30 - It was relatively clear and we were able to get to within a few feet of the TV cameras and Mylene Klass.

By 930pm it was pretty rammed, by 1030 it was totally chocker!

Oh - Take PLENTY of tins of beer etc and empty 2 litre plastic bottles for later.

I only took 2 cans last year - I'd take 8 if I went again!

Good call on the empty plastic bottles - once you're in you're in and stuck. Unless you work for the MOD and have a main building pass so you can watch from the windows!

Friends mine replied to new year greeting s by text from Trafalgar square ! sounded like they had a great time

They normally reside in Brighton but come from Cape Town - which id imagine would also be quite a setting for new year
