Default Elton John and David Furnish become parents

Elton John and his partner David Furnish have become parents of a son born to a surrogate mother, it was disclosed today.

The boy, who has been named Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, was born on Christmas Day in the United States

How lovely for them

I wonder who the father is

I feel sorry for the little baby.

He will grow up a Bender, as everything gay will be thrust upon him.

It is so wrong having 2 gay parents.

So having a Mother and Father means that the baby wouldnt have grown up gay ?
Baby P had a mother and that made all the difference.

I too do not support gay couples adopting children. Not because how they might end up.
I just think they will get the **** ripped out of them at school etc.

Each to their own and the baby won't know any different anyway once it's old enough to understand things. But still a big no from me.

Oh well, the law allows it I suppose.

No it doesnt. But having both a mother and father as nature intended will allow the child to be brought in more natural surroundings. A mother and a father play different roles in a childs upbringing or would you disagrree with that?

I don't like Elton John at all, apart from a few of his 70's hits I find him mostly an irritating cvnt (based on media portrayal). However, as long as they offer care and guidance to the child I can see no reason for them not to make good parents. Obviously, the child will want for nothing, unless they put a lot of effort into keeping him grounded with a realistic view on money and the world. All kids get the crap ripped out of them about something, but I would think the schools their child will attend will have reasonable policies, and they will probably prepare him for what to expect from the naturally shallow minds of other children. If Michael Jackson could raise a family, I can't see why Elton can't. There are plenty of 'normal' families who make a p!ss poor job of it, and I'd warrant that an assessment of children raised in gay families might find that they are proportionately better cared for than the average scummy British low-life dysfunctional chav breeding colonies.

I think it's great.

Mum or dad, two dads or two mums..... I couldn't really care less, and it will be 'the norm' for this child. So what if some families do not conform to the 'norms' and boundaries set out by society.
Having a mum and dad around doesn't mean that you will instantly havehypod upbringing.

I'm sure this child will be brought up much better than what some celebs manage.
At least Elton isn't ******** about left right and centre.

They are both of an age where they have done all the parting, and sleeping about.
I am sure they are more than ready to commit 100% to being parents without running off to do a uk tour or get signed to a football team in Spain.

My heart goes out to them, and I wish them all the happiness in the world.

All the best to them, but I think the age of Elton and David is more of a worry for the child. Especially Elton, he's about 64 isn't he???? He'll be very lucky if he lives to see the childs 21st.

I can see where you are coming from there, but he seems in good health at the moment, so I don't see the problem.

Apart from openly admitting he snorts cocaine?

I guess money really can buy you anything you want. If a normal man/woman couple want to adopt an unwanted baby, they have to jump through more hoops than anything. Couples have been refused because they may deem one parent overweight, implying they'll overfeed their young child making them obese.

But, being a raving Coke snorting Poofta is fine, as long as you have several Million pounds in the bank?

From what I gather he pretty much snorted up anything White for the best part of the 70's and most of the 80's but I am sure he's totally clean now.

But I don't know the man.

I do know that adoption and surragacy are two different things though.

Wasn't it just a couple years ago he and Lilly Allen had a ding dong on stage while presenting an award? What was Elton's words? Oh yes........

"I can still snort you under the table"

Sounds like a man totally clean to me.

My mates still tell people I could smoke them under the table, (a bit of a running joke from my 21st) but I haven't touched a joint since 2005.

Being gay is a lifestyle choice, and going out and buying a baby shouldn't be a part of that lifestyle choice just because you got a few bob in your pocket and every other celeb such as that awfull Agelina woman seems to be doing.

I don't think people choose to be gay, they just are.

Mate, take my word for it, you're wrong. Absolutely, categorically wrong.

Stop making up rules of nature so that you can perpetuate your own phobias.

Millions of babies born, every year, into poverty, disease, abuse etc and we worry about one born to a highly regarded artist and a surrogate, I think the focus is in the wrong place, so what if the child has two gay men as parents, if the child is loved then I don't see a problem.

Kids adapt to all sort of situations, only hindsight will tell if they get it right, many "normal" couples don't and ok, it isn't the "ideal" nuclear family but you know what, it may just work. My cousin is a copper who has removed babies on the verge of death from stoned junkies and the mentally ill, as a baby I would take my chance with Multi Millionaire couple, even if they are gay.

Go and see the kids in care, being fostered and whatever, then pass judgement.

Holy moley, of all the examples you could have picked as a model 'unconventional' parent, you chose Wacko Jacko?

Seriously though, I'm sure Elton and Furnish will put their all into bringing this kid up, so he/she shouldn't turn out too bad.

Even the best parents turn out some wronguns, j4ckos mates parents are the nicest people you could meet

Seriously, if you are going to worry about childrens wellbeing, Elton John/David Furnishes child is probably the last one you want to worry about unless you are after a good opportunity to have a dig at gays.
