Child-proof containers........

Child-proof containers........
Some of you may know that at the end of 2008 I suffered a slipped disc in my neck which resulted in nerve damage to my left arm....irreversible.
Today, for the first time, I couldn't get the lid off a tin of paint thinners. I just did not have sufficient grip to hold the tin still and push down and twist with my right hand
I knew old people suffer this, but didn't expect it to happen to me even before I reach 60
Now I'm all for child-proof if it saves lives, but what abouty those of us who can't open them? Could we not be offered the same product in an ordinary container? I'd even pay a few pence more..........
Oh, and if anyone knows a way to disable those tye of containers, please let me know, by PM if you like. Thanks.
