N-Power what a bunch of crooks
Cut a long story short, changed my tariff in the summer with an offer of a free £45 football store voucher. At the time I asked was this offer just for new customers or existing customers too, to which they replied existing customers would get the voucher.
Been chasing the voucher as it hasn't arrived, kept on being promised it was on it's way. Today I get an email saying, not entitled, new customers only.
It's like that bank adverts, but just about sums them up, N-Power are a bunch of 'bankers'.
Anyway OFGEM contacted, direct debit cancelled and new energy company will be found - anyone recommend a good one

As I said I wasn't laughing at the OP's situation.
The volume of people that complain about Npower amuses me, but then again, it's equally balanced by the amount of people that complain about other utility companies. I myself complained about E.on for a long time.
But then again I work for the parent company and have nothing to do with the operational business of Npower. I don't get staff discount either

I was looking at that only a couple of days ago, a quick price comparison tonight and see who's the cheapest - I know NPower aren't, but it was convenient at the time not to change.

You could try one of npowers online tarrifs as they are/were (not 100% sure so don't quote me) the cheapest that the company offer but obviously aren't publicised to current customers / door sales / telesales enquiries.
I think, as I say, I work in IT and not the retail business, but I used to.

They have now come back to me, apologised for passing me incorrect information, and then in the next paragraph denied mis-informing me
I'm off to confused.com to find out who's getting my business
