she is being condemned for no more than being Christian not protesting not trying to convert anyone to Christianity just for holding different beliefs.
There seems to be a lot of bad feelings and extremist views and actions coming from Pakistan and the government barely keeping a lid on things i wonder just how long it will be before it becomes an extremist state not just a few groups causing trouble...

It's also hypocrisy in the extreme. Apparently the argument began when she retrieved some drinking water for a group of women who claimed they would not drink it because it had been contaminated by a Christian.....
So one rule for one group and death to the others then!!! lol

The lefties will tell you its just a small minority of Muslims when in fact the religion itself is backward and extremist.
Islam is not a peaceful religion and has no place in the modern western world.

This sort of dreadful happening is always caused by extremists who are totally without any care for people but who want only to dictate how they want their interpretation of the laws to be observed and also such an awful punishment which can never be justified of course.
They will also of course wish to demonstrate their own personal power.
It is to be hoped that the judge will have the strength of mind to cancel such a dreadful act. I wonder if she actually said anything blasphemous or whether the whole thing was set up for the purposes of revenge. Who gave the evidence that they were prepared to convict her on?

I am not looking for trouble where there isn't any but i am a little tired of extremists who seem to be getting the upper hand in some parts of the world Pakistan being an example of this.
I happily give to the red cross and red crescent (red crescent more so when i was in Dubai as they have a higher profile there) yet trouble makers and militants/extremists seem to have little trouble in recruiting people which 'we' try to and want to help regardless of who or what they worship - help like this is called compassion and humanity for our fellow man...
I have no religious agenda FWIW

Why do use the word 'extremists' to describe these people? Is because what they subscribe to is extreme or because you see them as representing an extreme portion of Islam?

Evening, James.
I see them as representing an extreme portion of Islam. Apologies if that offends anyone but when I read and see stuff like the above, I can fully understand peoples concerns about Islamism and all it stands for.

I just wonder whether they really are 'extremists'. I guess it's easier on the concsience to label them as such.

Although this hanging has been sentenced by the courts. I would describe that as representing the mainstream in Pakistan. To our eyes its extreme, but amongst conservative Muslims in that country this event is simply an application of the blasphemy laws.

Laws favoring one religion are open to abuse.
