UGG Boots - Have I been shafted
Wifey provides a link to an internet site selling UGG boots:
http://www.uggbootssale-uk.co.uk/
She said her friend used them and they arrived very quickly.
So, as she wanted some for xmas, I went ahead an ordered a pair.
Now, I wish I hadn't, but I did a bit of research today and according to http://www.winter-boot.co.uk/fake-ugg-websites/ , they will probably be fakes.
Have I been shafted?
I paid on credit card, so I can always cancel the payment.

I know, fecking silly money and why I refused to buy her a pair. The she found this wonderful site selling them for £60. Bargain! Well, if they were real yes, but if they are fake....£60! FOR FAKES!
No reason why I cannot cancel card payment is there?

Don't say I never helpful.
I wouldn't go to the bother of cancelling payment, most card providers won't do it anyway without good reason, i.e. your card is being used fraudulently etc. and the company that sold you the goods would then be well within their rights to chase you for payment by other means.

If it's normally too good to be true it normally is.
Loads of fake ugg boots sites its a minefield. The wife wanted some last year but I talked her out of her mistake.

Yes, you probably have. I tried to get a pair "cheap" off Ebay and I managed to find some for about half the price of the real ones. Bonus. Got them and they were quite good, but definitely fakes. They weren't even real sheepskin!
I contacted the seller and luckily she was OK about it and refunded me. She'd had good feedback, so thought it would be OK. What I did in the end was buy some from a dealer listed on the UGG website. I would recommend you do this in future as you're guaranteed they will be real, though you will have to pay full price

I know, the real UGG Boots are actually made in China! Which makes it even more confusing. I wish I had never looked for trouble now. Wifey would have been none the wiser

At that price, I would say, probably.
I hope your wife knows they soak up water like a sponge. I bought some for walking the dog. They are comfy but look awful and are utterly useless in bad weather

Yeah they are 100% fake.
I was stung by something similar last year. I sent them an e mail saying I suspected they were not genuine Ugg Australia boots. I mentioned trading standards also
I explained that I would send the boots back when I got a refund, which they agreed to do straight off. That made me more suspect. They told me they would not cover postage, so again I mentioned how I thought trading standards might like to be informed and it was all sorted.
Full refund and postage sorted in less than two hours and four e mails.
Sadly for your case, I was dealing with a power seller on e bay.
Not some con artist who is unlikely to answer any e mails. Here's hoping that they do though.
Just a heads up, if you go to the official ugg Australia website, they have a list of all the companies who are legally registered to sell them in their stores, be it a high street or on line shop, they will ALL be on there, and suprisingly, there are not many!
E bay are NOT registered to sell these items, so anyone selling them in bulk, will be selling fakes.
Also, there is no reason why joe bloggs selling a pair of genuine uggs on behalf of his mrs due to 'wrong size', is telling the truth.
Put these pretty good copy cat boots next to a real pair and you can tell the difference in an instant.

Well, if you click on the 'live chat' button ( like i did this morning), you get to chat to an advisor.
My order was shipped on Friday (proved by the tracking number he provided). I said I was concerned about them being fake. Ofcourse, he denied them being fake blah blah blah. Then, as a bit of a curve ball, I asked how much they cost to make, to which he answered, '£13'.
That was the giveaway as far as I am concerned. As a gesture of good will, he said he will refund me £30 and I will keep the boots. I agreed, but I am still going to cancel the credit card payment when I get. So, if all goes to plan, I will be £30 up on the deal!

My girlfriend paid £250 for a pair of the leather UGG boots when I started to point out what a waste of money and why would you spend that much, she turned round and pointed out that I paid someone £500 to plug my car into a laptop

Yes, they are fake!!
I have a mate who made quite a lot of money selling these fake UGG boots. He used to import them from China (just type Ugg Boots into Alibaba website) and they would cost around £15 a pair.
He was selling them for £80/100 on eBay all day long. The factories that make the stuff just send all the labels ect... out the back door to another factory which makes copies.
Same with GHD hair straighteners, boxes of 24 from China 3-5 day delivery by air. £20 a set and I swear to god you cannot tell by looking at them. These were selling for £120 on eBay and even in hair salons.
Be warned, never buy Uggs or GHD's from anywhere except a reputable high street shop or direct from the brand's official website. Also be aware that people copy the official websites too

Reminds me of my brother in law who bought a limited edition GHD giftset on Ebay for £60 brand new when the same kit should be circa £200, then he was shocked when it turned out to be fake.
