Elliot was our MP, and quite a good one, as MP's go.

When this first blew up I was happy to see that he said he'd plead "Not Guilty" and was looking forward to proving it in a court of law.

However, I have been dismayed to see the extent of their wriggling NOT to go to court.

But look at Uddin: SHE refuses to repay £100,000+ and all parliament can do is suspend her for longer. Some punishment, eh? No wonder these three want parliament to "punish" them.

I am very glad that their attempts to wriggle out of it have failed. They lied so that they could claim money to which they were not entitled. That is theft in my book and parliamentary privilege should never be successfully used as a way of getting away with it.

The whole business over misclaiming for expenses has been a sorry and disappointing tale. I got well and truly fed up of the excuse so many used of "making a mistake" in their claims. They knew perfectly well what they were doing and I think there are many more who should also be facing court proceedings.

This shameful episode has done more than anything else to undermine any sort of trust that the people can have in their MP's any more, regardless of which party they represent.

There was a time when an MP was a respected person whom people felt they could trust. How many of them deserve that trust anymore?

That is the thing.
Maybe Tories have too much money to have to go too far.
Mind you, I think the one on the right looks extremely Tory. - Progress of sorts?

The scandal was spread amongst all MP's regardless of party and I think they should all have been given the boot.
