I don't have issue with people who are breaking the law getting the full weight of it thrown in their face. I do object to idiots like are featured on this documentary spouting off and taking personal delight in believing they are somehow moral evangelicalists!

Its got a lot better now they have some serious issues to deal with. My best mate is a fireman and the accidents he's been too are truly shocking. Not a job I'd wish on anyone.

I tell you what does make my blood boil. Some of the limp wristed punishments handed out, I can't believe that someone who caused death behind the wheel received such a minor penalty!!!!
(actually, I can believe it but it still winds me up no end, and clearly it is something the Police have an issue with too. Magistrates etc. seem to have **** all clue!)

The last half was pretty sobering actually. You can see why they are so **** sometimes over speeding or the likes whej they stop people .... I think I would be if I had to go and scrape bodies off the roads and tell their loved ones they had died at the hands of careless driving.

Though it also has to be said that there are some v out of touch ones too
The first half of that show I thought was making an open dig at cops, but the second half was a very sobering look at one of the worst parts of the job
Looking forward to next week, response, the backbone of Plodding!

I'm in this lots trade (Though not a Black rat), I was chatting with a magistrate one day and she told me how little freedom they actually had when it comes to sentancing. The Government, in particular the last lot, structure the punishments so much that there is very little that the magistrate can put down leading to quite a bit of frustration.

First half of the show seemed a bit of a dig but was probably just to contextualise the second half, thankfully. Bit bored of the anti police brigade, damned if they do, damned if they don't, as ever

Didin't watch it, but couldn't be a copper myself. They have to jump through a million hoops to arrest someone, only for the offender to get a slap on the wrists and be back on the street doing the same thing two minutes later. Must be soul destroying..... all credit to them fro sticking to it.
Yes, there are ******* parading as police out there too, but there are in all walks of life. You have to remember these guys and girls risk their lives every day trying to stop bad things happening to decent people, usually getting **** for it from both sides, so you have to accept they're gonna have their bad days and be short on patience sometimes, just like anyone else

Better than some of the police stop **** that really are all propaganda.
If you are a law obiding motorist then the traffic police can only be doing good. If you are breaking the law, then you get pulled. Simples.
These people 'want' to be police. Of course if that is your calling then you will enjoy arresting/reporting people and doing your job to the full.

As for being done for 32 in a 30, I'd like someone to say they've been prosecuted for it.
There are guidelines:
30-39 - a warning
40-49 - a ticket
50+ - a report case
(based on human and not camera involvement! )

They are in a lose lose situation. One minute people want rid of speed cameras and the like, and to have more police out there, then when they are and are doing their job, people complain about them being 'little hitlers' so to speak.
Of course there will be some that are power hungry and like to perhaps assert their authority a little too much by some peoples standards, but this goes for many professions.
I'm acually a little curious as to what people really want. To be able to do anything they want/believe to be ok, and be left alone?

I thought it was a good programme tonight, being called to scenes of accidents like that head on collision must be horrible, I could not do that as my everyday job.
