Fireworks?
Need to get some in for the kids. For the last couple of years we haven't had any for one reason or another. Before that I've bought some big boxes from Costco which were very good but quite expensive.
I once bought some from one of these shops that spring up for a couple of weeks and they were absolute pants. Obviously they were gone by the time I went around to complain.
I see Tesco have got some deals on. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

I'm informed that the pikey supermarkets (Aldi, Lidl, etc.) do some good value fireworks.
Personally I'd take the kids to a display. Our doggy friends aren't fans of all the explosions which if confined to 5/11 would be bearable but not for weeks either side of the main event

This is a specialist fireworks shop in Long Eaton (nr Nottingham / Derby)
http://www.bigbangfireworks.co.uk/
I've bought stuff from these guys in the past and they are very knowledgeable. They are also not a short term shop.
You tell what you want, how much you want to spend and they'll sort you out. they're very good for freebies as well (when you spend enough, they just keep chucking bits in)

Shame though, as i only used to buy bangers - back in the days when there was no lower age limit on buying fireworks
A banger in a cow pat was always a good laugh

Just save yourself some money and take them to a display.Fireworks cost an effing fortune for the good ones, take them to the local pub display and down a few jars at same time....

Just got back from two weeks in FLorida today and I have to say, after watching the display at Magic Kingdom on Saturday night, nothing I will ever see on bonfire night (or probably any other night for that matter) will match up to that display, and they are doing it twice a week! I have lost any will to buy fireworks as I will simply be disappointed, and despite the local fire service doing their best, I probably won't bother

Have to say I don't know. I know the impressive ones like the old Cannon Cracker and the Mighty Atom have been stopped-spoilsports!, but I thought you could still get less interesting and weak as water ones!
We used to fire empty treacle tins off the back of a spade on the ground and they used to fly onto the tin roof of a big garage about 4 gardens away, and it used to roll down the roof driving them crazy! What an evil bunch we were! Have not mentioned the hours of fun with calcium carbide and water to make little bombs too!
