Oct 20th - Apple Change Everything... once again
So the rumours seem to concentrate on a new Macbook Air, which isn't a bad thing, the Air was a game changer when released and is still a top notch laptop, if a little too fragile.
I'm hoping for something a little off the wall, touch screen iMac would be incredible especially if combined with the ability to run iPad applications.
No one is close to them in the PC market, but it'll do no harm to move a few more steps ahead.
With stock now over $300.00 and market leading innovative products popping up at a rate of knots, can anything slow them down?

why bother asking? Jack just likes having new things to think about while he touches himself. Apple are clearly a good company with good products. I don't think a normal man gets much more excited than that.

The Air sparked a move to thin and light laptops. It changed peoples opinions on how small a powerful laptop could be. That's game changing.
STi wanna Subaru, it's not new Apple products that turn me on, it's people like you taking the time to slag me off that gets me going, so thanks.

I'm sat typing this in my home office on an iMac, with a Macbook on my desk, along with my iPhone and if I turn around, the other desk has two more iMacs on it.
So I guess you could say I like Apple products............
But even I think you talk some b0ll0cks

It certainly didn't sell like the rest of the range, but they are quite good. I look after two, one had a screen issue - fixed out of warranty - the other is much loved and very reliable.

I understand touch-screen on iPhones, iPods and iPads, where their size, weight, usage and portability deny them a mouse and keyboard, but on a desktop machine where there is ample space I can't see a benefit to touch-screens. I can envisage a lot of arm ache, and a very grubby screen which requires constant cleaning, but no real improvement over a mouse and keyboard The Magic Trackpad is great as an alternative or enhancement to the traditional input methods, but quite why we need touch-screen desktop pooters evades me

See, I can't see the point of the Tragic Mac Pad (see what I did there? ) - and again, like many, I'm typing this on my MacBook Pro.
Got a G5 next to it. Another G5 as a media server. 2 x mac minis upstairs. Wifey has a Macbook Pro. My iphone is on the desk. The ipod(s) - 3 of em are dotted around the house.
No, not a p1ssing contest, but the suffice to say, I'm a Mac fan. The Macbook air was/is sh1te (as far as Macs go) - right down there with the Apple Newton!
As for touch screen - do me a favour! Might be useful on a lappy (but then would defeat the object of the iPad), but pointless on a desktop machine.
As for running Ipad apps on a proper Mac? LOL!! I don't think so - kinda pointless again.
I *do* agree with Jack (!) that Apple have got some game-changing products out there..... sadly, they haven't developed them enough to repeat the same "WOW!" they did when initially released.
Iphone being one of them.
The *only* thing that really impressed me was the Magic Mouse - and I use mine everyday. BUT hell, £56 for a mouse!!
What I REALLY want from Apple is a Bluetooth keyboard that actually has a numerical keyboard on it - not that stupid mini keyboard.
But keep going Jack - your trolling comments are very amusing I, for one, enjoy when you post - it does remind me of the Family Guy clip -

I'll be getting one to use with the Bluetooth keyboard as part of a Mac Mini HTPC set-up I'm planning. Lounging on the sofa it can be awkward to use a mouse without a suitable flat surface to hand, but glue a MTP to the BT keyboard and you have all you need in a convenient lap device. The only other way I thought would be good would be to use an iPad as a keyboard/trackpad and remote, but that would be significantly more expensive, although it would also allow me to continue to browse whilst she watches the telly.

Pedictably I have a Tragic Mac Pad and love it. It's absolutely perfect for use on the sofa where mice are truly rubbish. It's also upgraded my old MacBook to full multitouch. But, it costs more than some on here are willing to pay for a laptop.

The MTP just seems excessive - £59!! for what it is and for a media centre, bit pricey (imho)
I do the same thing with my iphone - control the mac from RealVNC.

I believe there is also going to be a new iPad app called iWorship which uses the compass and the GPS to point the iPad at Mecca and then you can kneel on it to pray. There is the option to switch the location between Mecca and Cupertino for the Apple faithful.
