Can't really go wrong with a HTC... been very tempted to have a desire rather than wait for the H7

I bet the iPhone4 would have won if it weren't for the 'issues' it's had.

Well Apple did pretty well in the other categories as well as having the iPhone in second place

Gadget of the Year - iPad
Retailer of the Year - Apple
Commuter Gadget of the Year- iPhone 4
Innovation of the Year - iPad
Computer of the Year- Macbook

They had to give HTC something, keep the readers happy. The Desire is a good competitor to the 3GS but looks silly next to the iPhone 4.

Obviously they didn't take quite enough advertising space in the magazine over the year. Better luck next year

No allegiance either way but what are the main advantages.

I think the best phone you can get is the BlackBerry Curve like I have, mainly because I dont pay the bill and nobody cribs when its expensive ! hence why I wont be changing hpnes anytime soon, I have to live vicariously through those who have a choice.

no one can argue about the selling power of apple or ease of use. Problem with the tech is its limited to what it will do (deliberatly by apple) and you pay a premium cos its a fasion item.

problem is its more about fasion than function. If the iphone was the 'in' gadget it would get no where.

for me i will never get an apple product, except in exceptional circumstances, i don't the restrictipons put on them and i find them way ott costs wise

That's a load of tosh if ever I've read any.

Limitations, what limitations, if you mean applications are screened so we don't get hit by phone number spamming and 'who knows what' malicious software, then yes but that's a limitation Android users will soon pay for via Malware scanning software... just like Windows.

If the iPhone is just an "in" gadget, then why is every new phone a clone of it? Fact is it showed the way and others are still trying to follow.

In terms of costs, it's the same price as it's closest competitors and applications are cheaper.

Anyhow, that's enough from me, it's nothing I haven't spouted on here before. Just winds me up when someone states that it's more a fashion accessory than the bleeding edge of technology.

Yeh the Desire does look a bit silly next to the iphone 4, it wasn't fair to put a fully working phone without any major issues next to the iphone 4.

Limitations, what limitations
As for limitations. True drag and drop storage (be it for music, pics or whatever) without iTunes or any other additional explorer/syncing software would be nice. Which inccidentally many other phones can do. Very handy if borrowing someone else's computer.

Make it native to Windows without installing extra software and impove the battery life and I'd have one tomoorow. Inccindetly, battery life is also what puts me off a Android phone. Battery technology really need to play catch up, and manufacturer's lying about real world standby times doesn't help.

Someone put iTunes on one of our works computers so they could sync the contacts for email etc. FFS. Its a pentium III. How can that poor thing even think about running a resource hogging piece of software like that? And no replacing the computer because someone has an iPhone is not within our budget -its perfectly satisfactory for all other business needs. Although I'm considering changing over to Unbuntu to really screw things up

I use a 59p app on my iPhone which enables drag and drop file storage, I use it for quick transfer of files from other peoples machines and viewing of large movies, but it plays music, views pictures, documents, all of that really. I'm not saying it answers your issues but it works for many.

My contacts are not synced via iTunes, Exchange, Gmail and Mobile Me all make this simple.

I'm pretty sure Windows 7 has drivers for Apple devices.

Half of the Android owners will move to Windows phones in a few months, they can slag each other off then.

Yet you all feel the need to keep telling us how it's the best product don't you?

Well ( suprise surprise )

- a big majority of phone threads here are started by apple fanboys frankly pimping their product

, Do you really expect all and sundry to bow down before you lol

Default Are the apple cracks starting to show?

And another bad day at the office

What Hi-Fi awards 2010

Iphone4 beaten as best multimedia device by the Samsung galaxy S

It was let down by its restrictive formats.

I bet that went down a storm at cupertino
