Default MOT question

Can you use the failure sheet (not sure of its name) to get your road tax ? Need to Tax my car today but wiaitng one a rear light for my car and dont hink it will be here until the weekend. So my MOT was failed....

If i read you right your car is currently without an MOT due to failure to pass. If so then no you cannot tax the car without a current MOT and valid insurance. Even if you old MOT is still current the MOT failure surpasses that and take precedent - i hope that makes sense!

What is wrong with the rear light can it be bodged until the new one arrives?

No - you need it to have a valid MOT on the day you go for your tax

Surely the car has to be fully MOT'd before they will allow you to tax it.
